The world's local bank
After the acquisition of The Chinese Bank, HSBC Taiwan (here after referred to as “the Bank”) has increased our branch network in Taiwan from eight to 34. With the extensive, global, localized and comprehensive financial management resources of the HSBC Group, HSBC Taiwan delivers to our customers a superior and full range of financial services with the mission of fulfilling all our customers' needs.
If you were a The Chinese Bank customer and you have not yet set up your new account with HSBC, we would like to take this opportunity to invite you to visit your nearest HSBC branch as soon as possible with your Alien Residence Card and passport (for non-Taiwanese nationals), or National Identification Card (for Taiwanese nationals) to set up your new HSBC account to take advantage of the Bank’s over the counter and automated services. HSBC Taiwan provides three different banking services - HSBC Premier , Power Vantage Plus and HSBC Direct , to help you manage different financial needs. We invite you to take advantage of the Bank’s broad range of financial products, such as mutual funds, national/international bonds, international currency investments, mortgage loan and insurance products, to satisfy all of your banking and investment needs.
In order to safeguard your account, the Bank will take the following measures for dormant accounts (effective by 30 November 2009):
Unless you have a signed agreement with HSBC, if you have not made a withdrawal/deposit transaction over the past two years (including the pre 29 March 2008 HSBC transfer period), and your current deposit account balance is less than NTD5,000, your account and the associated deposit, if any, will be automatically transferred to a ‘Dormant Custodian Account’. The Bank will continue to safeguard it interest free.
If you need deposit, withdraw, remittance or other bank services, you need to come to one of our branches with your ARC and Passport (for non-Taiwanese nationals), or National Identification card and other identification proof (for Taiwanese nationals) to sign up for a new account with the Bank.
As above measures, if you were a The Chinese Bank customer and have not made a withdrawal/deposit transaction over the past two years (including the pre 29 March 2008 HSBC transfer period) and your account balance is below TWD 5,000 (or equivalent to TWD 5,000), within 60 days of the correspondence being sent out and this public notice being posted, on 06 March 2010, your account and the associated deposit, if any, will be automatically transferred to a ‘Dormant Custodian Account’. You may at any time visit any of our branches with your passport and original signature/chop to withdraw your original account balance, or visit the HSBC website to download the ‘Dormant Custodian Account Withdrawal Request Form’, complete the form and mail it to the address stated on the form. Upon receiving your form and verifying the signature/chop, the Bank will remit your original account balance to the financial organisations in Taiwan you have instructed. If you have already set up a new account and completed all the necessary procedures, please ignore this notice. We apologise for any inconveniences caused.
