What’s new

Improve the security of HSBC Taiwan app to adjust the maximum number of devices with the mobile banking

To provide safer digital banking services, we improve the security of HSBC Taiwan app against online fraud/scam. From 26th July 2021 onwards, we adjust the maximum number of devices with the mobile banking. You will not be able to set up more than 1 mobile device (incl. Android and iOS) to access the HSBC Taiwan app.

Existing customers who have set up more than 1 mobile device will still be able to access the HSBC Taiwan app on their devices, but will not be able to add additional devices on mobile banking. To find out more details, please refer to FAQ

Step 1 : Log on HSBC Taiwan app, select ‘ Profile’, and select ‘ Manage devices’.

Digital Secure Key

The Digital Secure Key on HSBC Taiwan App can replace your physical Security Device, allowing you to generate security codes to log on to online banking or verify transactions more quickly and securely. That means you won’t need to use your physical Security Device anymore. Digital banking just got easier.

Once you've activated Digital Secure Key on your mobile banking app and agreed to replace your Security Device, your Security Device will be deactivated immediately and you'll no longer need it. This ensures logging on is as secure as ever, only faster.

Forgot/Reset online banking user password

Your online banking user password will be used to securely identify yourself to set up mobile banking app or reset app PIN.

If you forgot your user password to set up mobile banking or change App PIN, we offer you recovery options in order to access your account. You can follow the steps below to reset your user password.

*If you haven’t created a user password, please log on HSBC (Taiwan) online banking to create new credentials

Step 1: Tap 'Forgot your user password?' and ‘Request new password’. 

If you forgot your user password to set up mobile banking or change App 6-digit PIN, you can tap 'Forgot your user password?' under password input page, and tap 'Request user password' to proceed.

Supported devices for biometric authentication features are as follows:

  • iOS users: You can log on to HSBC Taiwan app using Touch ID1 or Face ID2.
  • Android users: You can log on to HSBC Taiwan app using Fingerprint ID3,4.

Available on Touch ID enabled Apple iPhone, iPad or later running on iOS 13 or above

Available on Face ID enabled Apple iPhone X or later, and iPad Pro running on iOS 13 or above

Fingerprint ID: If your device OS is Android 8.0 or above, you will be able to use Fingerprint ID unless your device is deemed unsecure by the app.

Samsung S9/S9+ Fingerprint ID: If your device OS is Android 10.0 or newer and you've downloaded the latest app version, you will not be able to use Fingerprint ID.
